Accreditation of the Master of Management Study Program at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Yogyakarta by LAMEMBA
Yogyakarta – The Master of Management (MM) Study Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Yogyakarta (UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta), held the Field Assessment for MM Program Accreditation conducted by the Independent Accreditation Body for Business and Management Economics and Accounting (LAMEMBA). This two-day accreditation activity aims to assess and ensure the quality of education provided by the MM Program and offer a clearer picture of the quality and academic development at UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta.
On the first day, April 24, 2025, the event was opened with a speech by the Rector of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta, Prof. Dr. Mohamad Irhas Effendi. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of accreditation as an indicator of higher education quality that is expected to improve competitiveness and the quality of graduates. “Accreditation is not just an administrative requirement but serves as a tool to map and improve the existing quality of education. Thus, this accreditation process is crucial in ensuring that we can produce graduates who are ready to face global challenges,” said Prof. Dr. Mohamad Irhas Effendi.
The event continued with a presentation from the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Dr. Januar Eko P., who shared the progress of the MM Program and the various achievements it has accomplished in recent years. "We continuously strive to improve the quality of teaching and education we provide, ensuring that every graduate possesses the competencies required by the workforce,” said Dr. Januar Eko P. in his presentation.
The assessment team, consisting of qualified assessors from LAMEMBA, namely Prof. Dr. Musran Munizu, SE., M.Si., CIPM, and Dr. Nuri Herachwati, Dra., Ec, M.Si., M.Sc., conducted a series of interviews with academic staff, students, and alumni to gather comprehensive data regarding the learning process, available facilities, and the connection between theory and practice implemented in the study program. One of the assessors, Prof. Dr. Musran Munizu, stated, “Our goal is not only to assess but also to provide constructive feedback so that this study program continues to grow and can overcome existing challenges.”
On the second day, April 25, 2025, the assessment continued with a field visit to evaluate the facilities and resources available at the Faculty of Economics and Business. The assessment team visited classrooms, laboratories, libraries, and other supporting facilities to ensure that all facilities met the established standards. Additionally, the assessors held in-depth discussions with students and alumni to explore their experiences regarding the quality of teaching and the relevance of the curriculum implemented.
As part of the evaluation process, LAMEMBA also assessed the involvement of the MM Program in community service activities, research, and collaborations with various parties, including the industry. All collected information will be used to provide an objective evaluation of the study program.
“We hope that this accreditation process can provide clear guidance for us in improving the quality of the study program and ensuring that every student we educate will receive a quality educational experience,” said Dr. Nuri Herachwati.
This accreditation activity is part of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta’s ongoing efforts to improve educational quality and ensure that the study programs remain relevant to the demands of the workforce and the development of knowledge. The results of this field assessment are expected to provide constructive feedback and serve as a foundation for further improvements and developments.
With this accreditation, it is hoped that the Master of Management Study Program at UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta will continue to excel and produce graduates who are ready to face global challenges, contributing significantly to the advancement of business and management in Indonesia.
